Activities
Cap Corse, the island within the island, is an enchanting territory, with a very rich and varied activity offer: sea, land, sport, culture, historical and religious monuments, villages and much more (a detailed map of the Cap is hung in common room!). Here is a little taste of closest to Campu Stelle activities.
Path of Customs: Macinaggio is the starting point of the Path of Customs, which follows the shoreline until Centuri, a “very picturesque and full itinerary, which [makes it possible to] admire protected fauna, flora, monuments and incomparable landscapes”.
Description, history and practical info are available on Conservatoire du Littoral web site page dedicated to Pointe du Cap Corse: click on “Découvrez la balade” at the bottom of the page to download the full booklet about Path of Customs, in french, italian and english. Tha path is 19km long, without particular difficulties, it can be covered in approximately 8 hours (3 hours and a half from Macinaggio to Barcaggio, 45 minutes from Barcaggio to Tollare, 4 hours from Tollare to Centuri), but also calculate the time to swim in wonderful beaches and creeks you’ll find on your way!
Don’t forget an adequate water supply, wear appropriate shoes, remember that camping, bivouacking, light fires, leave rubbish and landing on the islands are forbidden. Beware of fire risk in windy days.
Beaches: It is certainly not easy to choose among Cap Corse 25 beaches… a great help is offered by Tourist Office’s meticulous work, which collects in this page and on its interactive map all useful information for each of them: location, exposure, access, characteristics, pictures. A selection of beaches, with related services and information about access for people with reduced mobility, is available in this brochure.
On some beaches you’ll find deposits of seagrass leaves, posidonia, which is a protected species of flowering plant, the presence of which indicates excellent state of sea health and absence of pollution. Posidonia deposits, furthermore, protect beaches from storm surges. To learn more, you can read the dossier by Pointe du Cap Corse.
Hikes: not only sea, but also land, not only Path of Customs, but also miles and miles of trails for hiking and walking, to be discovered and covered with Tourist Office indications.
If you prefer to be accompanied by a professional guide, you can refer to Jérémie of Cap Corse Randonnées, who offers different themed itineraries, of all levels, and custom itineraries.
Guided tours: Tourist Office offers un up-to-date list of guided, cultural and to local producers tours on related web pages.
